Aim:Find out prevalence of non-resolving VH & find out etiological factor & surgical outcome.
Methods: Prospective cross sectional study for 24 months. VH undergoing surgery were included.Followup was for 1Yr.
Results:61 eyes from Jan-Dec 2015 were studied in sample size 55.Prevalence was 0.005.Data followed normal distribution.M:F=48:11.OD:OS=41:20.Mean age of presentation 50.60±15.01Yrs (M) and 54.27 ± 8.55 yrs(F). Dimness of vision was the main presenting complaints 52(82.24%).Presentation was in a duration of 67.96(± 79.29) months. PDR was there in 27(46%). In NIDDM,9(33.3%) had VH within 0-10Yrs and in IDDM 6(22.2%) had presented within 11-20Yrs.Cataract was 19(21%).PO VA was highly significant p=0.000, without complications. The two wonders were(I) NIDDM VH were more (ii) VH in diabetics were not PDR in all cases.
Results:VH can have variable etiologies with a new reason underneath it each time which needs surgical exploration and treatment, with very good outcome.
