AIM:
To review the causes of postoperative rebound anterior uveits and their management.
MATERIALS & METHODS:
Retrospective case study of 50 patients with postoperative rebound anterior uveitis.Clinical presentation,risk factors,duration after cataract surgery either phaco or SICS with PCIOL and treatment outcomes were analysed.All patients were treated with topical and/or oral steroids,antibiotics.
RESULTS:
Inappropriate long term steroid drops by the patients was the predominant risk factor.Other risk factors being uncontrolled HTN,DM,CAD,CKD,secondary glaucoma,retinopathy,etc.
CONCLUSION:
Rebound postop anterior uveitis can be treated effectively with good visual outcome with timely treatment of risk factors.
