Aim- The aim of this study to identify etiological causes and treatment outcomes of different pattern patterns of uveitis in south India.METHODS- The subjects of this study were 50 patients with newly diagnosed uveitis presenting to the ophthalmology department of tertiary eye care of south India from October 2016 to July 2017. Patients were followed up for a period of 6 months. RESULTS- Out of 50 patients studied, two patients (4%) had a history of ankylosing spondylitis and tuberculosis. Acute Anterior Uveitis (AAU) in thirty-three patients (66%). Six patients (12%) had choroiditis while two patients (4%) were labeled as panuveitis. Five patients (10%) had pars planitis, two patients (4%) had Posner-Schlossman syndrome and one patient (2%) each had Fuchs Heterochromic iritis. CONCLUSION- A detailed algorithmic diagnostic approach is essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment. Prompt initiation of therapy can give excellent results with few long-lasting sequelae.
