Many patients get only one eye operated. Over a period of 6 months, 4 patients presented with lens induced glaucoma. In all 4 the other eye was pseudophakic, operated 5-10 years earlier. 3 had phacomorphic glaucoma, of which 2 presented after 7 days of onset, one presented after 2 weeks. 1 had phacolytic glaucoma, he presented 6 days after the onset of pain and redness. All patients were 60-70 years of age. The IOP was controlled and they were taken up for surgery after an informed consent. The post-operative vision varied from 6/6 to 6/36. The cause for not presenting before the cataract led to glaucoma was socio-economic reasons in all, including non-availability of transport and funds. All of them had decided not to get the second eye operated due to lack of funds. It is important to emphasise the need to care for the second eye and make the patients and their attendants aware that if left untreated, the vision maybe lost in the un-operated eye. Pictures will be shown.
