Introduction: Diabetic nephropathy (DR) is the most common cause of kidney failure & end stage kidney disease. Several patients suffer from ocular morbidities which create hindrance in carrying out day-to-day activities.
Aim: To find and analyse ocular changes and complications associated with diabetic end stage kidney disease.
Methodology: Cross-Sectional study over 1 year of Diabetic End Stage Kidney Disease with complete ocular and systemic examination & evaluation of relationship between ocular complications and duration of renal dialysis.
Results: Most patients developed blurring of vision, 80% of these patients presented with DR. Proliferative DR was the commonest cause of visual impairment in them & 49% patients of DR underwent renal dialysis and severity of DR increased with nephropathy.
Conclusion: Patients with diabetic end stage kidney disease are at higher risk of ocular morbidities. Timely screening and treatment may help to reduce the ocular morbidities in this group.
