Aim:To compare CCT obtained with noncontact pachymeter ie,specular microscope(SM)&contact pachymeter ie, ultrasound pachymeter(UP).Methods:2 different investigators took separate sequential readings for Topcon SP-2000P SM&4 different investigators took separate sequential readings with Alcon OcuscanRxP UP.Refraction was done&subjects were grouped as myopes,emmetropes&hypermetropes. Myopes were further divided into low myopes(<-6D)&high myopes(≥-6D).If astigmatism was noted,then spherical equivalent was taken.Results:Topcon SM resulted in CCT that were,16.06μm lesser than those obtained from UP.A difference in CCT of 17.72µm,14.84µm&15.64µm were noted in emmetropes,myopes&hypermetropes respectively(p>0.05).Myopes were found to have thicker CCT as compared to emmetropes&hypermetropes ,using both devices.High myopes,had thinner CCT,using both devices.Conclusion:Both instruments are reliable, and can be used interchangeably in the measurement of CCT in myopia, hypermetropia&emmetropia
