Purpose: To study the changes in optical biometer parameters pre & post dilation
Method:Prospective study.42 eyes with cataract.Changes in axial length(AL),K1,K2,aqueous depth(AD),anterior chamber depth(ACD),lens thickness(LT),IOL power by SRKT,Barrett universal II formula pre & post dilation recorded with optical biometer(Lenstar 900).
Result:Predilation and Postdilation mean AL,AD,ACD,LT,K1,K2,IOL power by SRKT and Barrett formula were 23.93±1.4,2.75±0.49,3.29±0.48,4.06±0.54,43.13±1.41,43.94±1.3,19.93±4.11 and 20.40±4.07 and 23.88±1.42, 2.78±0.48, 3.32±0.48, 4.15±0.64, 43.01±1.37, 43.92±1.51, 20.03±4.15 and 20.04±4.13 respectively.Insignificant difference in AL,LT,K1,K2 and IOL power by Barrett formula.Significant change seen in AD,ACD,IOL power by SRKT formula(p<0.05). Conclusion:AL,LT and K readings not affected by dilation. Following dilation ACD and AD measured deeper than predilation.It should be kept in mind while IOL power calculation.
