Purpose: Measurement, calculations, surgical technique and visual assessment of toric IOL implantation. Methodology: This was a hospital based interventional prospective study where 24 eyes were selected with astigmatism of more than 2D. They underwent biometric assessment using Lenstar. Toric IOL power calculation was done based on Barrette’s Toric calculation method. Preoperative axis marking was done using bubble marker and direct slit beam to avoid cyclotorsion in sleeping position. On table, axis marking was reassessed. Post phaco, IOL was rotated till its marking matches corneal axis marking. Postoperative BCVA was measured at 1 and 3 months. Result: 91.6% eyes showed significant improvement in UCVA and BCVA, with significant reduction in the refractive cylinder, thus reducing the spectacle dependence. Conclusion: Accurate and proper measurement of parameters and calculation reduces the residual astigmatism after toric IOL implantation. Thus we achieved 6/6 without glasses.
