A Cross-sectional Observational study performed during july 2013-june 2014 in the Low vision Clinic. Of the total 1049 patients, 670 (63.9%) were males, 251 (23.9%) were in the 0-10 years age group, 515 (49.1%) were from Tamilnadu,371 (35.4%) had best corrected visual acuity between 6/18-6/60. The main causes for low vision were Retinitis pigmentosa (38.1%), Amblyopia (20.7%), ARMD (16.6%). Low vision devices were advised for 626 (59.7%) patients. The overall acceptance rate of low vision devices was 19.5%,the maximum being Magnifiers (27.5%).
