A prospective observational case series of 6 patients with Ethambutol induced toxic neuropathy within 3 months of stopping Ethambutol therapy.
OCT- RNFL was performed at initial diagnosis and after follow up of minimum 6 months. There was a statistically significant decrease in the mean RNFL of all quadrants.The pattern and extent of improvement of visual acuity, color vision, visual fields and optic disc appearance was co related with loss of RNFL thickness.
OCT may serve as a useful tool to objectively quantify changes in RNFLT and to monitor progression in patients with toxic optic neuropathy.
