Two years ago a 10 yr old girl presented with defective vision in left eye. Her BCVA in eft eye 6/18p and 6/6 in right eye. Fundus showed presence of optic disc pit along with serous retinal detachment at macula. She was diagnosed to have Optic Disc Pit maculopathy. SD OCT showed presence of retinoschisis involving outer retina, EDI showed a communicating channel into the optic disc pit. She underwent intravitreal pure gas (SF6) injection with prone positioning followed by laser photocoagulation adjacent and temporal to the optic disc. She was subsequently followed up over 2 yrs during which time the schitic spaces collapsed with subsequent re-organisation of the retinal layers. Surprisingly the visual acuity improved to 6/9. This case is unique as there was not just anatomical restoration of retinal architecture but also significant improvement in vision.
