No More Tears :Roadmap to Successful DCR
Dr. Ravi Ranjan
Dacryocystorhinostomy ( DCR) is one of the most common oculoplasty surgery performed .it is a bypassprocedure that creates an anastomosis between lacrimal sac and nasal mucosa via bony osteum. it is per-formed through skin incision externally or intranasally with/ without endoscopic visualisation. This courseframed for all ophthalmologists who want to do DCR surgery but hesitant because of tedious flap making,Haemorrhage and failure rate. A methodical approach results in good outcome and minimal morbidity. Wehave made whole course video and graphic assisted for better understanding. First topic of our course willrefresh anatomy and physiology. Proper case selection is must to avoid complications and confidence building. Conventional DCR and LASER DCR are discussed separately. DCR simplified so that any generalophthalmologist can start it with basic infrastructure and minimal instruments. Complications management inDCR will be discussed separately.
