SICS is a simple, cost effective procedure & has got many advantages when compared to Phaco& ECCE. It can be easily mastered & can be practiced in any remote part of the country. It’s an ideal step to master phaco. As the title suggests FROM THE PLAINS TO THE ROCKIES – This video based educative course highlights a well-structured training programme to convert from ECCE to SICS and to overcome the hurdles that can occur at various steps. Complications like premature entry, button hole, DM detachment, rhexis extension etc will be dealt in detail. The aim of the course is to help the surgeons to have a smooth transition to convert from ECCE to SICS in a staged manner wherein few of the steps are learnt while doing ECCE only, learn the basics of SICS, deal difficult situations like PXF, small pupil, posterior polar cataract, compromised cornea, hard cataract, paediatric cataract & manage complications that can occur at various steps through multiple video illustrations & clinical pearls.
