the Diagnosis of Glaucoma

Structural & functional correlation is vital for diagnosis of Glaucoma. The aim of this course is to give lucid
instructions on “How not to miss Glaucoma in your clinical setup”. In India, upto 90% Glaucoma is undetected
& about 50% is over diagnosed. Hence the need to impart practical clinical skills that shall help in increased
detection and reduction of over diagnosis.
The course starts with structural evaluation of OD. The must look out for signs shall be outlined. The next talk
shall cover the role of imaging for confirmation of structural defects, especially in disc suspects. Finally, a talk
on the correlation of diagnosed structural defects with functional changes in Visual fields including correct
interpretation of a field printout. All speakers shall give take home messages and also demonstrate structural
and functional correlation in an interactive style.
The expected end result of the course shall be that the delegate be able to confidently look out for and
diagnose Glaucoma.
