Aim:- To study the role of OCT in “Idiopathic central serous chorioretinopathy(ICSC)”
Materials and methods:- A study was conducted on 50 no. of patients who were clinically diagnosed as Idiopathic central serous chorioretinopathy”(ICSC) for a period of 1 year. Detail history and thorough ocular examination including investigations were done.
Results:-OCT showed serous retinal detachment in all 50 patients showing an empty vaulted area of various height having 100% sensitivity. Retinal thickness decreased after absorption of subretinal fluid in all eyes. Retinal thickness at the centre of fovea during acute phase was significantly greater than that after resolution of retinal detachment. On absorption of retinal fluid, foveal depression restored in all eyes.
Conclusion:-OCT is safe, noninvasive & less time consuming with 100% sensitivity giving us objective information about the disease. OCT is an excellent tool for diagnosis and followup.
