The last couple of decades have been witnessing a great revolution in medical science. Technology is leaping
beyond bounds. Coexistingly, significant socioeconomic changes have been developing. Doctors are more
professional and patients are more demanding, well informed and have a very high expectancy. There is a
great escalation in medical expenditure due to the cost of equipment and technical acumen. There is a
paradigm shift towards corporatization.
It is a blatant truth there is a significant deterioration in doctor patient relationship. Cases of violence against
doctors and litigations are precariously rising. How do we protect ourselves?
Further, some important issues need to be addressed:
♦ The role of our ancillaries i.e. Optometrists
♦ NABH – is it a necessity ?
♦ Govt. Stipulations – G.S.T., Accreditations, price caps, generic names etc. – How do we manage them?
♦ Medical Advertising – How far can we go ?
♦ How to strike a balance between Ethics & Profitability ?
♦ Medical Negligence
This interactive panel intends to deal with these vital issues.
