AIM-study of range of ocular injury after accidental application of oral suspension medicine
METHOD-a prospective study including 50 pts with occular injury presented to our hospital between july2017 –jan 2018.history taking ,BCVA ,slit lamp,fundoscopy done
RESULT-BCVA range 6/6 to CF mode of injury -accidental application of oral suspension of medicine.All eyes had conjuctival congestion ,mild to severe corneal edema with descemet’s membrane fold.5 eyes had epithelial defect,and stromal injury.Proper management done accordingly.BCVA improved in 90%,corneal opacity occurs in 10% cases,permanent visual loss in 2% cases.
CONCLUSION-occular injury after accidental application of oral suspension medicine may lead to life time visual loss.it can be prevented by emergenvy management
