INTRODUCTION: Retinal arterial macroaneurysms are idiopathic acquired dilatation of major retinal arterioles usually seen at areas of arteriovenous crossing. Three of them managed at our hospital are being reported.
METHOD: Case reports
Case 1 is 65 year old diabetic and hypertensive male with RE vision of 6/18 P with a large aneurysm with surrounding exudation near superotemporal arcade.
Case 2 is 70 year old hypertensive lady with LE vision of counting fingers close to face with an area of haemorrhage with surrounding dense exudation at superotemporal arcade.
Case 3 is 73 year old male known hypertensive with RE vision of 6/18 P with a macroaneurysm with surrounding exudation at the superotemporal arcade.
Laser photocoagulation was done due to heavy exudation surrounding macroaneurysm.
RESULTS: Follow up showed decrease in exudation around the macroaneurysm with visual improvement.
CONCLUSIONS: Laser photocoagulation may be indicated in cases with persistent /progressive exudation.
