Dr.SAYALI MAHAJAN, S19692

Amongst patients who had undergone combined surgery in one eye and needed combined surgery in other eye, those who refused to undergo surgery were presented with a questionnaire asking the reasons for refusal. Both acceptors and refusers were asked for their experience after first eye surgery. RESULTS: Out of 134, 44 patients accepted and 90 refused surgery. Reasons for refusal were IOP being well controlled in the fellow eye(61%), good vision in their fellow eye(60%), having to continue the antiglaucoma drops in post surgery eye , frequent follow-ups post surgery, decrease chance of postoperative vision improvement. There was no significant difference in acceptors and refusers regarding experience of first eye surgery but there was comparable decrease in follow-ups and less usage of post operative antiglaucoma medications in acceptor group.
