A randomised observational study has been conducted on healthy young individuals of the age group 20-30 yrs, with no comorbidities or refractive error and correlation between the axial length of the eye and the height of the individual was analysed.

200 eyes of 100 persons studied .

Exclusion criteria was presence of any refractive error or any other ocular pathology.

Study had equal number of males and females in the above mentioned age group.

any other systemic pathology was excluded .

Height of all subjects was measured by the same observer with the same scale.

iol master was utilised for the calculation of the axial length. the study showed a positive correlation between the two parameters which is significant. this study is the first of its kind and is very useful especially in this era of refractive surgeries
